People: Six-figure deal helps law firm expand; Haulage and logistics firm adds to team; and more

A Leeds law firm is expanding with four key appointments with the support of a six-figure funding deal.

Metis Law has recruited a solicitor and three trainees to strengthen its team in the core areas of the practice – corporate & commercial; commercial property and commercial litigation.

Lloyds Bank has provided the finance package to support the expansion.
Metis Law was founded by Rajat Sharma in 2009.

He said: “Metis Law has grown considerably from the initial £20,000 investment made in 2009. We recognise that to continue to grow successfully, we needed to invest in people, which is why we chose to expand our workforce.

“Lloyds Bank has been a great help in supporting us with the expansion, and has always been on hand to provide guidance on any challenges we were facing when looking to grow.”

Lee Rycraft, legal specialist relationship director at Lloyds Bank Commercial Banking, said: “Leeds is one of the key legal centres in the North of England, and Metis Law has established itself as a well-regarded firm since its inception eight years ago.”
