Park Row refurbishment begins

A major £7m refurbishment of 7 Park Row in Leeds has commenced.

The first office refurbishment to launch in the city this year, CBRE Global Investors is overseeing the project.

The former Lloyds Bank headquarters, totalling just over 40,000 sq ft, is undergoing external and internal revamps.

The grade A office accommodation will have a ground floor restaurant, Thai eatery Busaba, double height reception, basement gym and electric car charging points.

The building’s sixth to ninth floors with undergo a ‘defurb’, with exposed surfaces and creative space, while the lower floors will have a more corporate feel, said CBRE.

Ian Wilson, senior director, CBRE Global Investors, comments: “We are totally repositioning this asset by substantially refurbishing the building, which once completed will offer prime office space with ground floor leisure. This will create significant added value for our client.”

Paul Fairhurst, head of Savills Leeds, adds: “Upon completion of the refurbishment in late 2017, 7 Park Row will be one of the highest quality office buildings Leeds has to offer and a real striking addition to the cityscape as people arrive into the train station. The mix of smaller, creative-style floor plates and more traditional space means it will prove attractive to a wide range of occupier types.”

Savills also advised CBRE Global Investors on the successful planning application for an extension to 7 Park Row.
