Quorn recalls meat-free mince due to metal contamination

Meat-free food manufacturer Quorn has been forced to recall a batch of its frozen meat-free mince meat due to contamination by small pieces of metal.

The product, which is only being sold at Tesco, was the 300g Quorn Meat Free Mince, with a best before date of 31 August 2018.

The manufacturer warned customers not to eat the product, saying it presented a safety risk.

Quorn company Marlow Foods returned sales growth of 5.2% as turnover reached £158.1m for the year, up from £150.3m in 2015.
