Cocktails In The City set to cause a stir
A two-day event will see around 20 of Leeds’ best bars battle it out to impress with their innovative creations as Cocktails In The City returns.
A sell out in recent years, cocktail enthusiasts are once again primed to descend on Leeds Town Hall on Thursday 6 and Friday 7 April to celebrate the city’s cocktail offering.
Bars popping up at this year’s event are include The Alchemist, Epernay, Angelica, Be At One, Chez Mal at Malmaison, Tattu, Pintura, Fire Lake Grill House and Cocktail Bar, Thewlis Cocktail Lounge, Roxy Ball Room, Gusto, Revolucion de Cuba, Blind Tyger, Bar Soba, Vice & Virtue, Blind Tyger, Almost Famous, Manahatta and Skylounge, with additional names added daily.
This year, all attendees will receive a Cocktails in the City membership card, worth £20, which will provide perks year-round.
Tabara N’Diaye of Cocktails in The City says: “We’re thrilled to be turning five by returning to Leeds Town Hall and celebrating this city’s vibrant cocktail scene. For this year’s event we’ve placed an emphasis on offering our guests drinking experiences that will educate, excite and inspire – from taking part in a 45-minute food and drink pairing or bottling your own rum punch to mixing your own coffee cocktails.”

Climb 203 steps to the top of the Clock Tower for a journey back to the British Raj and to the marriage of tonic and gin, from bark to bottle.
Experience the G&T (one of the longest partnerships in the drinks world) like never before, whilst taking-in a view of Leeds unlike any other.

The Ultimate Food and Drink Pairing Experience with Pintura and Lustau Sherry
No trip to the Basque Country region would be complete without enjoying the very finest sherries, perfectly paired with small plates of pinxto.
Fortunately, guests of Cocktails in The City can enjoy the same gastronomic delights without leaving Yorkshire as Pintura and Lustau Sherry come together to present a series of sumptuous food and drink pairing experiences.
Discover why sherry is hotly tipped as the next big trend (hint : it’s full of flavour and low in alcohol and sugar) as the expert bartenders of Pintura showcase and present a flight of cocktails complemented with three small plates, chosen and created by Pintura’s executive chef.

Create Your Own Punch To Bottle and Take Home with The Duppy Share
Join The Duppy Share Caribbean Rum as they bring back the punch in 2017. Create your own signature rum punch and fight it out against friends for the Prize Punch Award.
With a Duppy punch in hand, you’ll take a whistlestop tour of the world of rum, before taking up your tasting vessel to try a range of different recipes. Armed with your own bowl and ladle, you’ll create and mix-up your signature punch recipe to bottle and take home with you. Will you throw the winning punch?

Alice in Wonderland Live Escape Games with Tick Tock Unlock in The Victorian Prison Cells
Tick tock…Can you unlock Alice from the Queen of Hearts before it’s too late? You have 20 minutes to escape Leeds’ Town Hall Wonderland, otherwise the Queen will set the Jabberwocky on you.
(20 minute game. Every 30min from 18.30 until 22.00)
Coffee and Cocktails with 200 Degrees
To celebrate the launch of its 200 Degrees Cold Brew Coffee Concentrate, 200 Degrees will host interactive coffee and cocktail sessions led by their head baristas.
Armed with a Vodka Espresso, attendees will learn how to brew the perfect coffee before mixing up a range of tasty coffee cocktails.
