DLA Piper appoints in South Yorkshire

DLA PIPER in Sheffield is expanding its restructuring, construction, property litigation and employment, pensions and benefits teams with four new appointments.
Susannah Dingley rejoins the restructuring team as associate. She returns to DLA Piper from Halliwells, having qualified with the firm five years ago.
Ms Dingley will carry out work on corporate and personal reorganisations and reconstructions, and refinancings including use of formal insolvency procedures.
Mark Greenhalgh has joined DLA Piper′s property litigation team as solicitor after eight years in the City of London working with leading commercial property law firms. He joined Berwin Leighton Paisner in 2003 gaining experience across a wide range of property-related disciplines before taking the decision to specialise in property litigation and dispute resolution in Sheffield.
Louise Rea has joined the firm’s employment, pensions and benefits team as solicitor where she will specialise in employment matters. She recently qualified with DLA Piper having spent time training with a Harrogate based firm.
DLA Piper has also announced Peter Metcalf’s appointment as solicitor in the construction team at the Sheffield office. He joins from Clifford Chance.
Mr Metcalf has been recruited to boost the team’s combined practice of contentious and non-contentious work. He will become involved in a number of public sector education and other infrastructure projects and also assist in the increasing number of disputes the firm is handling, including High Court litigation and adjudication, for both the private and the public sector.
His appointment follows the extension of Shannon Elliott’s secondment to the Sheffield engineering and construction team.
Sheffield office managing partner Stephen Sly said: “The quality of these appointments reflects the excellent reputation enjoyed by the Sheffield office nationally.
“It is particularly pleasing that we are continuing to attract high calibre lawyers from London not only for the quality of work that we can offer in Sheffield, but the quality of life that the city has to offer.”
