ROTHERHAM Metropolitan Borough Council (MBC) has instructed Colliers International’s research and consultancy team to conduct a retail and leisure study of Rotherham following a competitive tender.
The study will not only provide an evidence base for the Rotherham Local Development Framework (LDF), which will cover the period up to 2027, but it will also inform any retail policies and proposals that come out as a result of the framework. In addition to this, the study will assist the MBC when it assesses future retail planning applications.
The aim of the study is to give the MBC a comprehensive understanding of the key issues surrounding the retail and leisure provision within the borough and the need for additional development. This will enable the Council to make informed decisions relating to the preparation of the LDF, as well as other retail and leisure proposals.
