Media Buzz: WYG strengthens communications team; Holland’s Pies retain Finn; and more

INFRASTRUCTURE and advisory services specialist WYG has appointed a new PR and communications assistant to help raise the company’s international profile.
Amy Bhavra joins the Leeds-based consultancy from Expert Patients Programme Community Interest Company (EPPCIC) and brings over three-years combined in-house and agency PR experience to the firm.
A Leeds Metropolitan University graduate, she has also worked for Dialogue, a PR agency specialising in advising property clients on planning issues, and has worked with clients SimonS developments, ProLogis and Commercial Estates Group.

NORTHERN Foods’ owned brand Holland’s Pies has selected Leeds-based Finn Communications as its retained PR agency after a four way pitch.
The brief, which covers both consumer and trade PR, will see Finn work with the brand for the next 18 months as it gears-up to support its national distribution.
Holland’s Pies, which aired its first TV commercial in 13 years earlier this month, has enjoyed success with its limited edition Coronation Street range, achieving national listings.

WOLFSTAR Consultancy, a Leeds-based public relations and social media specialist, has taken on Will McIntyre as account director.
Mr McIntyre has 14 years consultancy experience in technology communications having returned from eight years spent working in Australia handling pan-Asia Pacific public relations accounts for some of the biggest names in technology, including Microsoft, Acer, Dell, Motorola, BlackBerry and Intel.
