Waystone moves forward with Hatfield scheme

REGENERATION specialist Waystone has secured planning permission to deliver its proposals for Hatfield Power Park, a new 95 acre development at junction five off the M18 near Doncaster.

The plans include a new 2km road linking the park directly to the M18 which is expected to open up further regeneration development in Hatfield and Stainforth.

The total development potential for the disused site now covers more than 130 acres and is situated next to the working colliery and a new IGCC power station already under development by Powerfuels.

Waystone plans to develop Hatfield Power Park for large commercial and industrial occupation.

Stuart McLoughlin, managing director at Waystone, said: “Hatfield Power Park will provide opportunities and synergies for industries and technologies with operational requirements that cannot be served from a more traditional business and industry park.”

Waystone has appointed Knight Frank as sole commercial letting agent for the development.

Peter Whiteley, partner at the Sheffield office of Knight Frank, said: “We are delighted to be appointed to represent Hatfield Power Park which offers a unique proposition.

“Linking the site to junction five of the M18 will raise the profile and accessibility of the site significantly and will most certainly have a positive impact on potential occupiers seeking direct motorway access.”
