This Is Chemistry find right formula with move

A GROWING Yorkshire marketing services company has acquired larger premises after winning backing from Yorkshire Bank.

Creative marketing agency This Is Chemistry has moved from leasing a small start-up studio in Bradford’s Design Exchange after gaining funding from Yorkshire Bank’s Bradford-based West Yorkshire Financial Solutions Centre (FSC).

This Is Chemistry has invested a total of £300,000 in acquiring and fitting out 2,200 sq ft of new office space in a former textile warehouse in nearby the city’s Little Germany urban village to cater for its continuing expansion.

Founded in 2006 by business partners Martin Fisher and Jonathan Southcott, who previously ran a marketing services business in Leeds, This Is

Chemistry has grown from two people to 10 including designers, advertising strategists, media consultants and event managers, supported by a series of freelancers, and has active projects for clients in the Far East, US, as well as throughout Europe and the UK.

Yorkshire Bank’s funding has allowed the full-service agency to  acquire  two residential apartments in a converted textile warehouse and turn them into offices with large studios, presentation rooms, meeting rooms and a `quiet space’ for high-concentration creative work.

Mr Fisher, a partner at the business, said: “We have grown rapidly during the last three years so we were soon bursting out of our small studio at The Design Exchange.

“We moved from Leeds to Bradford at a time when it was more fashionable to go the other way but Bradford is a great place to be based and we think it has a great future as a business centre.

“The new offices are much better. We’ve taken on four staff in the last couple of months and we now have space for further expansion.”

Among This Is Chemistry’s main UK successes is being appointed by Bradford Council to deliver marketing services for its Kickstart campaign, backed by local businesses, which aims to help the establishment of more than 1,000 small businesses during the next decade to boost growth, prosperity and employment.

Yorkshire Bank West Yorkshire FSC business partner, Andrew Cook, said: “This Is Chemistry has created exciting new premises with the funding we were pleased to support them with. It is great to work with an enterprise which has found out what a wonderful business city Bradford is and we look forward to helping them go from strength to strength.”
