New fleet for Eddie Stobart

HAULAGE giant Eddie Stobart is to invest in a range of vehicles after securing new finance.
The investment includes two deals for 265 trailers costing more than £5m for the firm which has depots in Leeds and Wakefield.
Ben Whawell, chief financial officer at Stobart group, said: “At Stobart Group we constantly strive to provide the best logistics solution to our customers.
“This funding will allow us to make continued significant investment in our fleet and ensure our industry-leading fleet utilisation and sustainable distribution services are maintained.”
The deal was arranged out of Barclays Corporate Asset Finance’s Manchester office led by regional sales director Stirling Hulme.
Mr Hulme said: “Whilst I have known Eddie Stobart Ltd for many years and have been involved in some exciting projects, the core of the business will always be on the UK’s road network.
“It is always satisfying to know that we have been able to work with a customer to provide a mutually acceptable solution to assist in further expansion – especially with such a well-known and respected brand as Eddie Stobart.”
