White Young Green appoints new finance director

WHITE Young Green has headhunted former Rothschild director David Wilton from fellow Yorkshire group Adler & Allan to become its finance director.
The move comes just a month after the departure of chief executive Lawrie Hayes from Headingley-based White Young Green, the building, housing and environment consultancy.
WYG’s current finance director Bob Hartley will become services director and continue as company secretary.
Mr Wilton, who began his career with accountancy firm Price Waterhouse, was director in the Leeds office of investment bank NM Rothschild before leaving to join Harrogate-based oil and environmental waste management group Adler & Allan as finance director.
WYG said the changes “provide the group with a strong and focused board of directors, with Peter Wood as chairman, Paul Hamer as group managing director, David Wilton as dinance director and Bob Hartley as services director, together with Brian Duckworth, Robert Barr and John Richardson as non-executive directors”.
WYG, which worked on Headingley Carnegie Stadium and the development of York Racecourse, has won several new projects in areas highlighted as a focus for growth.
The projects include two important major EU funded projects in Turkey and a number of socio-economic projects in Romania.
In transport and infrastructure, WYG has been appointed by Network Rail on a number of projects to further improve its station infrastructure.
