Senior promotion at Skipton Financial Services

FINANCIAL advice company, Skipton Financial Services (SFS) has appointed a new chief operating officer.

The company, which is a subsidiary for Skipton Building Society, have promoted Andrew Barker from his existing position as commercial director to the role of chief operating office.

In this new role, Mr Barker will be responsible for compliance, IT, operations and technical functions at the head office in Skipton.

He said: “Over the 17 years since I joined Skipton Financial Services, customers have never had a greater need for financial advice than they do in the present economic climate.

“Given the fall in interest rates last week to a record all-time low of 1%, people need to make the most of their hard-earned cash so I am delighted that my new role gives me the opportunity to ensure all our clients receive an even greater level of service when they deal with SFS.”
