BREAKING NEWS: Cape deal discussions terminated

SUPPORT services company Cape today revealed discussions with a number of private equity houses had ended.

Wakefield-based Cape, which supplies scaffolding, insulation, fire protection and cleaning services to the energy and natural resources sector, revealed in December that it had received “very preliminary expressions of interest”.

In a statement today Cape said: “The board of Cape is confident of the prospects of the group as an independent business.

“The first quarter of 2009 has started strongly, giving the board confidence in Cape’s prospects for the coming year.”

Cape reported last month that performance was in line with management expectations following a strong second half.

The company’s preliminary results will be issued on March 19.
