Enterprise buddies workshops announced

SUCCESSFUL business people can help talented friends take their first step towards self employment by bringing them along to one of four enterprising buddies workshops.
The Business Link Yorkshire hosted free events take place at Hillside, in Beeston on March 5 starting 7.30pm and Shine, in Harehills on March 11, starting 1pm.
In Bradford they are at Grid West, Park Lane Centre on March 6 starting 1pm and Grid South, Carnegie Enterprise Centre, on March 9 starting 7.30pm.
The events are designed to give potential entrepreneurs a boost of confidence that could help them take a new career path.
During the workshop the entrepreneurs will explain how they got started and why they think their friend could succeed in business too.
With experts from Business Link on hand the entrepreneurs and their ‘buddies’ will look at how they might use their skills to start a business and what they need to do next to make it happen.
Lisa Bohanna-Tang, who set up Yorkshire Money Advice in 2008, said she was bringing 18 year-old Nathaniel Robson to the event at Shine after he helped her out when she was let down by a professional design company.
“I was impressed by him from day one and was thrilled by the work he went on to deliver. He has all the entrepreneurial qualities needed to run a great business,” she said.
“You need a lot of self belief to set up in business as I know myself. Fortunately for Nathaniel he has plenty of self belief and is exactly the sort of person who could make a business succeed. Therefore I want to make sure I give him every encouragement.”
Enterprise champion from Business Link Yorkshire Jean Kent said: “We all know people with the skills and the passion to succeed in business but they don’t always think of themselves in that way.
“The enterprising buddies workshops are designed so that supporters can help their friends to think about business opportunities and encourage them to use the help that is available to start ups.”
Free refreshments will be available at all the enterprising buddies workshops but places must be pre-booked. To book your places email: events@cause-an-effect.co.uk or ring: 0113 3880088
