Rothera takes national role

YORKSHIRE Bank has appointed a new head of its national invoice finance team.

Martin Rothera has been appointed to head the team he helped to establish 14 years ago.

Mr Rothera was previously managing partner of Yorkshire Bank’s West Yorkshire Financial Solutions Centre (FSC) in Bradford, managing 45 staff.

The national invoice finance team, which also has an office in Glasgow and representation across the south of England, has more  than 80 specialists throughout the UK providing cashflow finance services to businesses.

Mr Rothera, who lives in Bradford and joined Yorkshire Bank in 1979, said: “I’m excited about the challenge of a national role. Invoice finance is a key service for supporting businesses, especially in the current climate, and my appointment confirms that we are very much open for business.

“We see a growing significance for this service and aim to grow it.”

After joining Yorkshire Bank aged 16 Mr Rothera worked in a series of roles including assistant branch manager, human resources, credit, invoice finance, asset finance, international banking and payments before becoming managing partner of the West Yorkshire FSC in 2004.
