Media Buzz: QHotels check in with DS.Emotion; hômejames nails Screwfix account; and more

FULL service creative and strategic agency DS.Emotion has continued its success in the tourism and destination markets after winning the creative business for QHotels.

The Leeds-based agency will work on a series of creative campaigns to engage with a range of business and leisure markets including hospitality, conference and weddings.

DS.Emotion will be responsible for generating all the creative for internal and external literature and advertising for the collection of 21 hotels across the UK including flagship hotels such as The Queens in Leeds and The Midland in Manchester.

The team will be led by director Angus Armitage and has been strengthened with the recent appointment of Shaun Darwood, who will use his expertise within the hospitality marketing arena to provide support across key accounts including Trinity Leeds, Portman Village, Eden and Philpotts.

SEARCH and social media specialists hômejames has been appointed by tools, accessories and hardware supplier Screwfix to boost its Facebook and mobile social media presence.

hômejames will deliver a 12 month calendar of activity, focused around Facebook and mobile applications.

The campaign has also been designed to tie up with the brand’s existing event and product calendars to ensure maximum exposure and success.

hômejames won the business following a successful one-off social media project which saw the agency implement a footballer and WAG lookalike competition for the brand during the 2010 World Cup.

PRINCIPLES Agency has created a new B2B press ad campaign for generics company Teva UK Limited.

The campaign launches Teva’s over-the-counter range of pharmaceutical products exclusively for independent pharmacies.

The range of medicines is being promoted as an alternative to leading brand remedies and includes analgesic, gastrointestinal, allergy and cold and flu relief products.

Nicky Cook, account director at Principles Agency, said: “The B2B ad campaign will raise awareness of Teva’s new over-the-counter range of products that address the consumer’s need for good value, generic medicinal products.

“We are currently working on phase two – a consumer campaign that will promote that message.”

FRONT, the Sheffield-based advertising agency, has been appointed by The Benenden Healthcare Society to revamp its library of photography.

York headquartered Benenden – which specialises in providing affordable mutual healthcare to employees of the public sector as well as their friends and families – will implement the new imagery across a variety of internal and external communications channels including direct marketing, email, online and traditional print/ outside advertising.

Catharine McBurnie from The Benenden Healthcare Society, said: “As a society, we are very proud of both our proposition and where we sit in the healthcare marketplace.

“Our services are very much based on the needs and expectations of our members so this new library of photography will, I’m sure, help us to communicate our personality and what we stand for.”
