Rural dating agency to expand into Northern cities

A NORTH Yorkshire specialist dating firm is to expand its ‘Meet and Greet’ events and is considering franchising the business.

Brawby near Malton-based The Introducion Company is to start holding its popular ‘Meet & Greet’ events in Leeds and Newcastle. Originally the events were only held in York.

Lesley Brewer first founded the company in 2006 with the aim of offering single people living in rural areas the opportunity to meet others and find out how a dating agency operates.

Since then, business has grown rapidly with membership now in excess of 400 thanks to the events, which were launched last year.

Ms Brewer said: “When I launched the Meet and Greet events in November they were really only intended to be small gatherings.

“However, they have now grown to be such popular occasions, for both my members and non-members, that I regularly have waiting lists and I now offer monthly events.

She continued: “What’s more, members in other parts of the country have travelled to York to attend and have now created a real demand in other cities so I am holding more in Leeds and Newcastle.

“With the number of single people thought to be in the region of 15 million and constantly growing I am now also looking into franchising the events side of The Introduction Company so that events can be held in other major towns and cities as well as there is a real gap in the market for relaxed events in exclusive surroundings.”

Each Meet and Greet caters for in the region of 50 people, both members and non-members of The Introduction Company, and is by invitation. The events offer the opportunity to meet new people and find out more about how the headhunting company operates. Anyone joining on the night will also be eligible for a discount on the joining fee.

The new city events will be held in association with Malmaison and will take place on April 2 in Newcastle and May 7 in Leeds.
