Retail and residential space revealed

DEVELOPER Town Centre Securities has unveiled its latest regeneration scheme which comprises townhouses fronting Oxford Row and a mixed retail and luxury apartment development facing West Park in Harrogate.
Leeds-based Town Centre has undertaken an 18 month regeneration programme to transform the former Focus DIY retail site in Harrogate, and also create four exclusive townhouses, five luxury apartments and two retails units totalling 8,000sq ft.
The four exclusive family homes, which are now ready for purchase, are set around their own private landscaped courtyard.
The five modern apartments, which include a three bedroom penthouse, will be available on the market in May.
The 4,500 sq ft and 3,500sq ft retail units will also be completed by May this year.
Richard Lewis, property director for Town Centre Securities, said: “We saw immense potential in the former retail site as it presented a good opportunity to put back some attractive ‘streetscene’ and green space into the area.
“The positioning of the site, within easy walking distance to both the 200 acre Stray parkland and Harrogate town centre, meant that it worked well for both residential and retail uses.
“Also, by redeveloping the existing retail units we were ensuring sustainable practise by preserving the core of the buildings and now have two self- contained workable units that are receiving interest from a variety of interested parties.
“In terms of the residential offering, we felt that a combination of luxury homes and townhouses would complement each other well.”
Strutt & Parker in Harrogate has been appointed as residential agents on the development while Central Retail is representing the retail element.
