Graham Edward

Graham has 36 years’ experience in Architecture and has been Managing Director of Edward Architecture for 15 successful years.

Under his stewardship the company has shown steady consistent growth to become a talented, 11 strong team. The award-winning RIBA chartered practice have city centre offices in both Leeds and London, an exciting workload and an impressive ‘Blue Chip’ client base. Graham’s experience covers Master Planning, Heritage and Conservation, Property advice, Urban design, Residential, Social Housing, Visitor Attractions and Commercial architecture.

Graham’s experience in Urban design and property advice has helped the practice become a Nationally recognized ‘Land Advisor’ for public sector land and buildings on the ‘Landsolve’ Framework.

Graham is currently leading a 26 Acre Urban South Yorkshire mixed use masterplan site with a complex Public Sector and Political stakeholder inventory. Graham also headed the 300-acre visitor attraction and country park masterplan at Langsett encompassing 3 Yorkshire Water Reservoirs, 2 Peak District National Park Villages and 7 listed buildings. These projects involved major public presentations and public consultations.

He specialises in strategic land and masterplanning and has worked closely with clients such as Barnsley MBC, Harworth Estates, Keyland Developments, Hargreaves Land, The Land Trust, Scottish and Newcastle and Barnardo’s in helping gain planning consents for best value uses and layouts.

Graham has a thorough knowledge of current commercial values and trends and will contribute no end in ensuring sites are designed to be both attractive and realise best value. He has solid knowledge of accessibility through experience in public buildings, visitor attractions and Court of Protection disabled adaptation projects.

He has won a civic trust award for works to listed buildings on Victoria Rd, Saltaire; achieved runner up in the International RIBA design Competition for a major Visitor Attraction for The Land Trust at Cronton Colliery, and won a CIAT award for Technical Excellence for the Listed; Fonab Castle Hotel in Pitlochry.

He was chosen to contribute to a book celebrating Big Ben’s 150th Anniversary on the back of his Urban design and historic building experience and has had technical articles published on renewable energy and sustainable construction, a subject on which he has spoken in public.

Graham is a keen cyclist, runs half marathons and is an ardent fan of Leeds United.
