25 new roles created for Neo as business undergoes expansion

West-Yorkshire Passive Fire Protection company, Neo, has created over 25 new roles after winning a string of new contracts. The roles are based in the Northwest, the Midlands and Yorkshire as the business continues to expand its client base nationally.

Founded in 2014, Neo is one of the UK’s most trusted Passive Fire Protection Specialists, providing a fully compliant service to a range of clients across the country.

Neo, which has taken on over 75 employees in 2021 alone, has been awarded several contracts with various universities, student accommodation providers, healthcare facilities and local authorities, driving the need for more personnel.

To support its growth, Neo has invested over £24,000 into the training and development of all employees during the last twelve months and plans to continue this trend throughout 2022. The business is placing further investment into its training and development scheme, inviting those with no industry experiencing to apply and receive on-the-job training.

The first of many recruitment initiatives took place during the summer when Neo welcomed a group of promising recruits from nationwide employment scheme, The Growth Company. The initiative, which was developed to help the unemployed get back into work, was designed to promote career opportunities for all and nurture local economic investment in the Northwest, where several of the business’ clients are based.

The candidates, all from the Manchester area, underwent a four-week intensive training programme in Passive Fire Protection, initially taking place at Neo’s on-site Training and Development Centre and later on-site.

Business Services Manager, Barry Whitehead, who manages the training scheme added, “to be able to provide new members of our workforce with the skills to start a career in fire protection and get them back into work is, personally, very rewarding. It’s a great opportunity for the recruits too, who will work alongside our regular passive fire protection teams and then towards a FIRAS accreditation.”
