Aspire Development secures contract with leading chemical distribution company Univar

Aspire Development are delighted to announce that they will be working in partnership with Univar, a world leader in the distribution of chemistry and related products and services, to design and deliver a tailored management apprenticeship programme for their employees.

As a specialist leadership and management training consultancy, Aspire Development were invited Univar’s Widnes site to meet Kirsty Heywood, Learning and Development Manager, and Angela Simpson, HR Director, to discuss the programme and how it could help them to develop their leaders to benefit the business long into the future.

Following their meeting with Univar, Aspire Development were successfully appointed the contract to work in partnership with Univar, to design and deliver the ILM accredited Level 5 management apprenticeship programme, tailored to suit their organisation needs, enabling individuals to develop their leadership skills to drive their people forward and in turn improve business performance.

Aspire’s Associate Commercial Director, Liam Widdop, commented “We’re thrilled to have won the contract to work in partnership with Univar.  Univar are a forward-thinking company who are gaining best value from their levy contributions by working with Aspire to develop a bespoke leadership apprenticeship programme which will develop the skills of their future leaders.

The apprenticeship levy has provided an opportunity for organisations to develop the leadership and management skills of existing members of staff through intensive programmes where delegates must evidence their applications back in the workplace. Aspire’s approach fits perfectly with this as our programmes are practical and pragmatic enabling delegates to demonstrate their new skills and behaviours in the workplace. This approach has delivered significant results for our clients and will for Univar.”

Kirsty Heywood, Learning and Development Manager at Univar, commented “At Univar we strive to grow our people to grow our business and are delighted to be working with Aspire to support this aim. The opportunity to provide a professional and blended approach to development aligned to our values and guiding principles made Aspire the obvious choice. We can’t wait for the programme to start and look forward to seeing the results from the delegates”.

The 18-month programme, which commences in September, will cover a range of topics including leading operational excellence, driving performance and delivering organisational results, before a finale event will be held where delegates will demonstrate their learning and return on investment to senior leaders.
