Pension Awareness Month 2020 – 2 in 5 employees over 45 unaware of how much pension they will receive

As Pension Awareness Month draws to an end, Leeds-based financial advisor Lazenby’s continue to promote clarity amongst savers across the UK.

The aim of industry experts like Lazenby’s is not to increase pension scheme input, but to address growing concerns over policy confusion, knowledge gaps and an increasing number of online pension scams.

“We’ve seen a huge spike in queries post-lockdown as both personal and business finances take a hit” says director, Alan Lazenby.

Operations manager Dee Lazenby adds: “We believe that life is just complex enough, without having to have the hassle of dealing with complex financial issues such as pensions and mortgages.”

Pension Awareness Week is an annual campaign organised by Pension Geeks with sponsors including Aegon and Royal London. The campaign has also received support from The Pensions Regulator, the Department for Work and Pensions, the Money and Pensions Service (Maps) and the Pension Protection Fund.

Due to Covid-19, the event moved online this year, offering a range of virtual 1:1s, webinars encouraging independent financial advice and educating people about improved planning strategies for the future.

Lazenby’s are a family-run financial advisor Leeds based in LS16. They have over 25 years’ experience in providing trusted, independent advice on a range of financial issues including mortgages, pensions, and inheritance.
