Eversheds begins Nottingham office hunt

Eversheds' Nottingham office

Law firm Eversheds is on the lookout for new offices in Nottingham, TheBusinessDesk.com understands.

The practice, which  is currently based at 35,550 sq ft offices at 1 Royal Standard Place, has to move by the end of November when its lease expires.

A prominent local property figure has confirmed to us that Eversheds are looking to stay in Nottingham. However, our source has warned that business leaders – including the City Council – need to do more to keep big professional services in Nottingham.

Saying that “we need to put our arm around them,” our source warned that there is a “constant threat” of professional services firms leaving Nottingham which is “a major worry”.

There have been calls from the commercial property sector for Nottingham City Council to throw its weight behind supporting the construction of new-build offices so that firms like Eversheds have options.

Speaking to TheBusinessDesk.com, the head of Invest in Nottingham Lorraine Baggs said: “Nottingham is rightly seen as the professional services centre of the East Midlands and Eversheds is an integral part of that.

“The calibre of the professional services companies with a presence in the city show what a supportive, collaborative working culture we have here, and we’re working with Eversheds to bring forward the best possible new office space for the company.”
