5 things to do in the East Midlands this weekend

Miss Saigon
The classic musical Miss Saigon is taking to the stage at Leicester’s Curve Theatre this weekend. The story follows 17-year-old Kim, who is forced to work in a Saigon bar in the last few days of the Vitenam War. She soon falls in love with American GI Chris, but are torn apart by the fall of Saigon. Kim goes on a three-year long journey to find Chris, who has no idea that he is a father. Find out more here.

The Nottingham Beach
The Nottingham Beach has returned to Old Market Square this week and will be in the city until early September. It is the perfect opportunity to enjoy a trip to the seaside without having to leave the city. You can either lounge on the beach in a deck chair, take a dip in the pool or even go on a ride or two. Head along to Derby’s Silk Mill this weekend to see the iconic poppy sculptures.
