Engineering firm scores multi-million pound contract on new stadium complex
SES Engineering Services (SES) has been appointed to work on the construction of a new stadium and leisure complex in York and a custody suite in Lincoln.
The two new contract wins, which have a combined value of £10.6m, will be delivered from the engineering firm’s York office.
Working with main contractor Buckingham Group Contracting Ltd (Buckingham Group), SES will provide a full range of mechanical and electrical services on the York Stadium Leisure Complex Project.
Located on the outskirts of the city at Monks Cross, the 8,000 all-seater stadium will become home to both York City Football Club and York City Knights Rugby League Club once construction completes in late spring 2019.
SES will provide a fast-track delivery to ensure the detailed programme of works is met. To achieve this, the engineering firm will manufacture 168 modules to cater for the main service routes at its dedicated offsite manufacturing facility, Prism, also based in York.
In Lincoln, SES is imminently due on site with a blue light sector facility, under construction for Lincolnshire County Council.
Procured under Scape Group’s national construction framework, Lincolnshire Emergency Services hub will bring together the region’s fire and rescue services, police force and ambulance services in a shared facility.
Working with Willmott Dixon, this latest blue sector contract marks the fifth custody suite SES has delivered with the main contractor. Earlier facilities include those in Sheffield, Barnsley and Blackpool as well as Grimsby, where SES also recently started on site.
Whilst maintaining existing emergency services, SES will install a full range of technically advanced building services in the new building to meet the needs of the three organisations residing under one roof.
