Cubo outlines ambitious growth plans

Cubo, the flexible office operator, is aiming to grow by 30% year-on-year and is eyeing expansion in Europe, according to its chief commercial officer.

Gareth O’Donovan, speaking at TheBusinessDesk.com’s Property Networking Lunch on Wednesday (April 24) said that Cubo is outpacing the industry by choosing locations that it believes prospective tenants want to be in.

He told our audience: “We don’t compromise on our buildings and the fit-out. A lot of our counterparts simply want to grow by opening in multiple sites quickly, but we wait until we’ve got the right building.

“We haven’t made a mistake so far.”

O’Donovan outlined plans to move into the south-west market and into Europe, adding: “We may also double up in cities we already have a presence in – and, in some cases, triple up if we feel the market is there.”

Cubo has ten venues across the UK. It’s latest acquisition, Number One Pride Place in Derby, has seen law firm Geldards become the flagship tenant. Geldards is also a tenant at Cubo’s Standard Court offices in Nottingham.

The refurbishment of Number One Pride Park started in April and is scheduled for completion in late June. The new Cubo offices will feature 18,000 sq ft of office accommodation arranged over three floors, with 450 desks available. Geldards will return to One Pride Park at this time to become the flagship occupier of the refurbished building.
