Nottingham fine dining restaurant set to close

A Nottingham fine dining restaurant is set to close, according to reports.

Hart’s says it will close its restaurant and concentrate in its hotel business, according to reports on Nottinghamshire Live.

Hart’s Restaurant has 80 covers. The closure will means that over 20 jobs will be lost. However, owners Tim Hart says he has plans to extend the hotel.

Owner Tim Hart told Nottinghamshire Live: “We want to reduce the size of our restaurant and concentrate it in the hotel. The scale of the restaurant is too big for the appetite for fine dining in Nottingham.

“It is terribly sad. How many restaurants last 20 years? We are not bust – but I am not going to hang on against a background of declining covers.”

Hart says the restaurant will close on March 9. A new, smaller, restaurant will open in the adjacent hotel.
