Well known property professional dies during sponsored bike ride

Property market company director Neil Bowler has passed away, it has been announced.

A director of Manchester-based Jenics, Mr Bowler, 52, passed away yesterday.

He had been participating in the Jenics sponsored Great Hotel Bike Ride from London to Manchester.

Since 2000, he had helped establish Jenics as one of the most respected hotel, leisure and land consultancies in the UK.

Many successful operators and developers benefited from hiss insight, advice and personal approach.

Away from the office Neil was a committed endurance cyclist and successful Iron Man competitor.

Neil is survived by Rachel and their daughters, aged 13 and 11.

A statement announcing his passing said: “Those that knew him will testify he was the archetypal ‘hail fellow well met’, gregarious and simply one who exuded passion, energy and confidence in everything he did.”

Neil, a former Liverpool John Moores University graduate, previously worked at Mason Owen and Hillier Parker.

Jenics was formed in 1998 and specialises in the leisure and care sectors of the property market.

It concentrates on the hotel sector, procuring in excess of 6,000 rooms in the UK for national clients including Travelodge.

The firm acquires sites for pub and restaurant operators including Mitchells & Butlers, Greene King, Spirit, Heineken, Marston’s and advises landlords on development opportunities incorporating these uses.

It also advises on acquisitition of sites for care and sheltered housing operators throughout the UK.
