Liverpool-based sportswear brand Castore has signed a long-term partnership with iconic tennis ace Andy Murray.

As his official kit partner, Murray will continue to wear Castore sportswear on and off the court, with his next entrance scheduled for Wimbledon.

The partnership will see Murray become a shareholder in the Castore business, and future plans will include a collaborative product development that will see Castore expand into technical tennis apparel.

As a British brand with worldwide ambitions, Castore aims to challenge the market and change the future dynamic of international sportswear.

The announcement represents an exciting time for British sportswear, positioning Castore as a premium alternative on the global stage.

Founded in 2015 by brothers Tom and Phil Beahon, who both came from professional sporting backgrounds, Castore creates premium performance and technically advanced sportswear.

The brand has rapidly grown since inception, now selling in more than 40 countries around the world.

Utilising a digitally-native business model, Castore uses its digital platforms to directly engage consumers with the brand, who share its enthusiasm and interest in excellence.

In a recent £3.2m investment, Castore welcomed high-profile investors including former Saatchi & Saatchi chief executive Robert Senior and private investor Arnaud Massenet.

The business partnership with Andy Murray, a globally recognised British athlete, demonstrates the first step on the brand’s pioneering strategy which includes continued international growth, working with new retail partners, further category extension and additional athlete partnerships.

Murray was first seen wearing Castore’s sportswear during January’s Australian Open and will debut his new Castore match and training kit, aligned to his planned return to the sport this Summer.

On the partnership, Andy Murray said: “Castore is a young, exciting brand that offers something different, with products that are really well cut and designed.

“For me it was a natural progression from previous kit partners. They’re the best I have tried and trained in. I am looking forward to working with their design team on the tennis line and I’m thrilled to be part of a British success story.

“The company is founded on ethical principles in the way it treats suppliers and staff, and that’s something that really resonated with me.”

Tom Beahon said: “We are incredibly excited to be partnering with an athlete of Andy’s caliber whose drive, commitment and competitive spirit have transcended tennis and inspired a generation of future British athletes.

“Andy embodies the Castore ethos of Better Never Stops, we immediately shared a joint vision on how to move the brand forward.

“Our goal is to build Castore into the world’s leading premium sportswear brand and the partnership with Andy represents a major step to achieving this vision.”

He added: “We are very proud to be a British sportswear brand and extremely excited about the opportunities this new
relationship with Andy encompasses.”
