NW Fund lures 3D software firm

A 3D software company is moving north after agreeing a funding deal to boost growth.

Gateway 3D, a software and solutions vendor, supplying the personalisation and promotional product markets, opened its office in Macclesfield this week after relocating from Derbyshire.

It has struck a £250,000 funding deal with The North West Fund for Digital & Creative, managed by AXM Venture Capital, which has invested alongside new chairman, Craig Slater.

Gateway 3D’s system allows end-customers to view products in 3D and personalise them with their own artwork, and process the online transaction on behalf of the retailer. The company powers personalisation sites for some major retailers, including Pets at Home.

The investment will fund Gateway 3D’s investment in technical and sales staff and in its IT infrastructure.

The business was founded by software entrepreneurs Andrew Talbot and Rob Bickerton.

Commenting on the investment Gateway 3D MD Andrew Talbot said “This is great news for both the company and our customers as we have been growing rapidly over the last two years and knew we needed to invest more in both support staff and continuing product development.

“This investment enables us to make this happen now and ensure we can deliver a world class product with a world class service”

Gateway 3D has customer in more than 10 different countries and the investment will also be used to fund international development as well as grow its team.
