£12m invested in Stockport, says council

STOCKPORT Council says the borough has attracted £11.8m of investment during the past year, creating 900 jobs.

Fibrestar Drums, which makes drums for the pharmaceutical and chemical industries, moved to new headquarters in Hazel Grove, while internet holiday company On The Beach, and specialist lender Blemain Group took premises in Stockport after moving their operations from Didsbury and Manchster city centre respectively.

In addition, Jacobs Engineering stayed in Stockport but moved to Park Square, Cheadle Hulme, and catering equipment supplier Stephenson’s expanded by investing over £500,000 in neighbouring premises.
