Recruiter Douglas Scott heads to Spinningfields

MANCHESTER-based legal recruiter Douglas Scott has announced a move to a new larger head office.

The company, which also operates in London, Birmingham, Leeds and Liverpool, is moving from York Street to Tower 12, Avenue North, Spinningfields, where it has signed a lease on 3,000 sq ft , double the size of its current office.

The move comes as the company celebrates a record first half year, with permanent placements up 31% and candidate registrations up 39% compared with the same period in 2012.

Douglas Scott has recruited four new staff in the last two months, and is keen to grow more says managing director Kath Riley.

“We’re recruiting across our network of offices as we take market share and roll out new services. The new 3000 sq ft office will serve as a central hub for the whole company – the calibre of our new neighbours, the Spinningfields’ scene and the size and facilities of the new office made Tower 12 the obvious choice for us.”

JMW negotiated the lease on behalf of Douglas Scott and Ward Hadaway acted for Allied London.

Mike Ingall, chief executive of Allied London commented, “Douglas Scott will be a welcome addition to Spinningfields – our strategy to produce a range of different real estate products across the estate is really succeeding, and it is developing a true business eco-system.”

Will Lewis of OBI Property represented Allied London, as leasing agent on the transaction.
