Administrators put Liverpool hotels on the market

THE company behind two Liverpool hotels and a health club in Runcorn has gone into administration.

Until last year Honey Properties (Liverpool) was run by the Liverpool property developers Sam Beilin and William Kearns who were both declared bankrupt earlier this year.

Honey owns the 18-room Solna Hotel in Sefton Park and the 17-room Park Lane Hotel, also in Sefton Park. It also has the Stockham Lodge Racquet and Health Club in Runcorn.

A company called TRB Estates (Liverpool), in which Mr Kearns held a majority stake, owned all the shares in Honey. It is now also insolvent after its lender, Anglo Irish Bank, appointed receivers from the London firm Allsop in July.

Mr Beilin and Mr Kearns resigned as a directors at both Honey Properties and TRB Estates in October 2009.

Daniel Butters and Bill Dawson, partners at the accountancy firm Deloitte were appointed as joint administrators of Honey on September 10 following an application from the directors.

In a statement Dan Butters said: “We are currently seeking tenants and purchasers for the properties in conjunction with our agents. The hotels are well placed for turnaround investment.”
