Jobs saved following Carillion collapse in £2m deal

Apleona HSG Facility Management has secured a £2m deal with an international automotive supplier, safeguarding 26 former Carillion employees’ jobs in the process.

The three-year deal with ZF, specialists in driveline and chassis technology, will see Apleona provide mechanical and electrical services, waste management, postal services, porterage, pest control and project management at ZF’s Solihull campus.

This contract win means 26 former Carillion employees will join Apleona following the former’s collapse in January. The risk of further job losses will be avoided by retaining Apleona’s existing supply chain.

Alastair McQueen, ZF Group vice president, Global Systems Engineering Electric Power Steering, said: “We are delighted that Apleona has been able to respond quickly to support to ZF’s requirements here in Solihull.

“We are also very happy that the employees of the former service provider working on this site have been retained by Apleona, maintaining jobs and allowing a seamless transition between suppliers.”
