Three new partners for KPMG in Birmingham

KPMG has strengthened its Birmingham office with the appointment of three new partners. The trio are part of 52 new partners created across the firm as a whole.

The appointments see Beccy Fenton, who specialises in healthcare, promoted to Partner alongside Nick Harrison, a management consultant, and Matt Collinson who specialises in pensions advisory.

The new partners will use their expertise to support a client base that ranges from multi-national household names to start-up businesses across sectors including aerospace and defence, financial services, healthcare and engineering and industrial products.

Of the national partner intake, 29 are in-house promotions and 23 external appointments. All promotions take effect from October 1. This brings the total number of partners in the firm to 613, among a staff, including partners, of approximately 11,500.

Mike Steventon, KPMG’s Midlands Regional Chairman, said: “Investing in our people is crucial to develop talent and ensure we have a strong and varied skill set in our team, and we have done that with our new partner appointments at One Snowhill.

“Beccy, Nick and Matt have a wealth of experience and knowledge to help us deliver our growth plans in the Midlands and meet the increased demand for our services in the region.”

Simon Collins, UK Chairman of KPMG, said the new partner intake reflected the firm’s optimism for growth.

“We continue to see high demand for our services from the wide range of businesses in the financial services industry and, accordingly, a third of our newly promoted partners are specialists in this sector.  I am confident that this year’s partner appointments put us in a strong position to address the business issues and opportunities our clients want to tackle most,” he said.

He admitted that although 15% of the firm’s were female, this was not where KPMG wanted be.

“However, I am pleased that we have seen more than double the number of successful female partner candidates this year compared with 2013, and a third of our newly promoted partners are women,” he added.
