Recruiter sees Birmingham base as just the job

RECRUITMENT firm Grays Executive Search has moved into the Birmingham market, setting up an an office in New Street in the city centre.

A specialist in senior and board level recruitment, the London-headquartered firm is part of Cordant Recruitment, the second-largest privately owned recruitment company in the UK.

At the same time as the office opening, Grays Executive Search has launched a new executive interim search division which will be headed up by ex-Michael Page director Phillip Machell from the Birmingham office.

He said: “More businesses are moving to Birmingham for many reasons such as cost and accessibility which is driving up competition for talent.

“On the other hand, the Office of National Statistics has shown that more professionals are choosing the city as their top destination to live and work. From our new office in Birmingham and our base in London, we can bring great leaders and businesses together.”

Grays says it is six months ahead of its plans to create a footprint outside of London, accelerated by the rapidly rising demand for its search and selection services for permanent and interim roles across a range of sectors worldwide.

The consultancy has doubled its team to six specialist consultants who will work between London and Birmingham.

Simon Bell, group managing director of Grays Executive Search, said: “Expanding into the executive search and interim markets from Birmingham has strengthened our market position and our service offering to both our candidates and clients.”
