One Pikachu or two for CBRE?

BIRMINGHAM’S commercial property community is reporting instances of crowds of youngsters gathering outside some of the city centre’s major office buildings.

One of those to have attracted the youngsters’ attention is 55 Temple Row – home of CBRE.

Workers said it appeared the youngsters were staring intently at their mobile phones – no change there then.

But what are they doing…texting their friends, checking the latest on Britain’s success in the Olympics?

Possibly bored with the summer holidays, they’re googling chartered surveyor apprentice opportunities at the world’s biggest property consultancy?

Maybe not.

No, it turns out the youngsters are just some of the millions embarking on the world’s largest global treasure hunt, courtesy of gaming app phenomenon Pokemon Go.

It turns out CBRE’s headquarters is at the confluence of four points of interest where it’s possible to bag some of the popular games’ rarer characters.

Better get used to it guys.

What’s CBRE managing director Martin Guest’s take on things?

“At least it’s not Tinder,” he said.
