Businesses on their marks for Clarion Leeds 10K Corporate Challenge

It will get very competitive on Sunday 9 July when scores of companies race against each other in the Clarion Leeds 10K Corporate Challenge.

Hundreds of businessmen and women will pull on their trainers in a bid to lift the title of fastest firm in the city.

A race within a race, the challenge has grown into a popular feature of the Asda Foundation Leeds 10K.

The challenge is open to teams of at least five members – there is no upper limit – with the times of the first three runners home used to calculate the winners.

Business professionals were joined by Leeds Rugby League legend Barrie McDermott to size up the competition at a networking lunch at the beginning of March.

Pudsey-based solicitors Chadwick Lawrence are the team to beat in 2017 – their top three runners clocked an impressive 1hr 54mins in last year’s event.

Roger Hutton, joint managing partner at Clarion, which has sponsored the challenge since 2007 said: “We are looking forward to celebrating 11 years of the Leeds 10K this July, running alongside Yorkshire’s business community in the Corporate Challenge. We are proud to be sponsors and support an organisation that has raised so much for very deserving causes.”

Siobhan Curtis, sponsorship and corporate manager at event organiser Run For All, said: “The Corporate Challenge is a fantastic feature of the 10K. The many companies who take part really enjoy the competition and we are enormously grateful to Clarion for all their support since 2007.”

The Leeds 10K is supported by Asda Foundation, Leeds City Council, Clarion, Viisana, , TheBusinessDesk.com, Heart, Arla Protein, BananaKick and LTS.
