Addleshaw Goddard’s property department has welcomed Glenn Sharpe, who joins as a partner in its planning team.

Previously national head of planning at DWF, his remit will span across the firm’s Northern offices, and will see him take responsibility for driving income and growth in these local markets.

An experienced planning lawyer, Sharpe has knowledge in infrastructure planning and urban development projects in both the public and private sectors; working for clients including the National Air Traffic Service, Liverpool Airport and Aggregate Industries UK.

Meanwhile, real estate lawyer Peter Mason has been promoted to partner.

Mason joined AG in 2008 and since his arrival has been instrumental in helping grow the Yorkshire real estate team. He advises on development schemes both locally and nationally, such as Carillion’s Tower Works scheme in Leeds, the mixed-use development of the Brough South site in East Yorkshire for a collaboration including Horncastle Group and BAE Systems, and Carillion-Igloo’s residential development at Ouseburn, Newcastle.

Bruce Lightbody, head of real estate in Leeds, said: “I am delighted that Peter’s hard work has been recognised and of course to welcome Glenn to the team. Having the region’s largest real estate team allows us to continue to handle large-scale, high-profile and value transactions for local, national and international businesses.”
