Equine therapy and rehabilitation business gallops ahead to growth with investment
An entrepreneur has been able to fulfil a life-long ambition of establishing an equine therapy and rehabilitation business after receiving funding from the UK Steel Enterprise (UKSE) Kickstart fund.
A qualified and insured equine sports and remedial massage practitioner, business owner Donna Barker is passionate about improving the life and welfare of horses, and established Donna Barker Equine Therapy and Rehabilitation in December 2016.
Specialising in providing a combination of effective therapies for optimum equine health and performance, the £500 funding boost has enabled the company to invest in branded marketing collateral and clothing, alongside materials for use in future training days held for horse owners.
The company now works with a growing customer base in and around North Lincolnshire and also plans to increase the profile of the business by sponsoring local riders.
Barker said: “The last few months have been amazing; the funding that I have received has allowed me to purchase marketing collateral – vital to getting my brand noticed.
“Through this I have been able to increase my client scope massively; prospective and potential clients now hear about the company, which is increasingly important in the ever-competitive world of business.
“Now, I have a well-established customer base which is growing by the day, and I’m delighted to be delivering a range of equine services to a whole myriad of clients. This increase in clients has also led me to take on the position of independent sales agent for The Pure Feed Company, promoting and selling their product.
“None of this would have been possible at such pace without the support from UK Steel Enterprise and the Kickstart fund. That initial £500 injection has made the world of difference, so thank you UK Steel.”
