People: Double hire for accountancy firm; Leisure group welcomes new team member; and more

Barnsley-based Gibson Booth has strengthened its accountancy and tax departments with two appointments.

Helen Needham has joined Gibson Booth as accounts senior from a Sheffield-based accountancy firm and Anne Cook has been appointed as a tax senior, after working at an accountancy practice in West Yorkshire.

The latest appointments take Gibson Booth’s total workforce to 32, as it looks to grow its accountancy, audit and tax services across the region.

Managing director of Gibson Booth, Robert Watson, said: “I am delighted to welcome Helen and Anne to the team who both bring with them a wealth of experience and I’m sure will be fantastic additions to our growing team.”

Christian Tyldesley

Luxury holiday home provider, Park Leisure, has appointed Christian Tyldesley as company sales director.

Tyldesley joins the Yorkshire business from Bourne Leisure and replaces Phill Burton who steps down after almost 19 years with the company.

Park Leisure CEO Miles Dewhurst said: “Christian is highly regarded as one of the best sales professionals in the industry. We’re thrilled to welcome him to the Park Leisure team as we enter our next phase of growth and are confident of the contribution he will make to the business’ ongoing success.”

Tyldesley joins the business with immediate effect and will be responsible for growing and developing the Park Leisure sales team, with five positions available nationwide to meet current expansion plans.

South Yorkshire’s Community Foundation (SYCF) is further bolstering the expertise of its board with the appointment of seven new trustees.

Bringing a wealth of experience and knowledge, the appointments will help to drive the strategy and vision of the charity, which provides grants to community organisations and charities in Sheffield who support local people.

The new trustees, who hail from professional services and PR sectors, bring the total number of board members to 20.

They are Alex Pettifer, current chairman of St Luke’s Hospice; John Pickering, former chief executive of Irwin Mitchell; Martin Ross, managing director of the PR company HR Media; Nick Kitchen, former human resources director of Unilever and current trustee for Citizens Advice Rotherham; Yiannis Koursis, deputy principal of Barnsley College; Shahida Siddique, founding partner and director of Faith Star, and Michele Todd, partner and head of the private client department of hlw Keeble Hawson Solicitors.

James Newman, chairman of SYCF and former chairman of the Sheffield City Region Local Enterprise Partnership (LEP), said: “As chairman, I warmly welcome our new trustees to the team. I know that they will only strengthen our already talented and skilled board.
