People: Senior hire at Lloyds Bank; Commercial finance and marketing company welcomes latest recruit; and more

Lloyds Banking Commercial Banking has appointed Simon Quin, who previously worked as head of international trade at the bank, as area director for SME Global Transaction Banking (GTB) Yorkshire the North East and Scotland.

He will lead a team of 10 regional managers specialising in the provision of invoice finance facilities to businesses with a turnover of between £1m and £25m.

Quin said: “SMEs are the lifeblood of our economy, and helping them to better manage their cashflow is a key focus for us at Lloyds Bank.

“Working alongside my team, we’ll be helping firms across Yorkshire to improve their working capital management and continue to grow.”

Mel Harris has joined commercial finance and marketing company ABL Business, based in Cleckheaton.

She will cover the Leeds, Bradford, Calderdale, Kirklees, and Wakefield areas, offering a full mix of commercial finance services and helping SMEs to raise the funds they need to trade, grow or stabilise their business.

Harris joins the company from Yorkshire Bank where she was most recently a payment solutions manager, helping businesses to set up systems which enable them to take card payments from customers.

Leeds-based drainage contractor Jet Aire Services has appointed Mark Lee as operations manager to help build the existing civil engineering section of the business.

He was previously contracts manager at Ringway Infrastructure Services, where he was responsible for operations throughout an area of North Yorkshire with a combined budget in the region of £15m.

Lee also held a similar position at Balfour Beatty Infrastructure Services, where he oversaw the delivery of construction schemes valued up to £1.5m to meet client requirements on time and within budget.

He will now be working closely with Jet Aire’s contractor partners and overseeing the management of programme scheduling, costs, resources, staff training and safety audits for Jet Aire’s domestic and commercial drainage works throughout the region.
