Sky Betting & Gaming launches graduate academy

Graduates from any degree discipline across the UK are being invited to apply to enter a three-year programme at Leeds-based Sky Betting & Gaming that will result in a masters qualification in digital and technology solutions.

Thirty places are available on the programme and the company is investing around £1m into the software academy.

Sky Betting & Gaming says it is the first programme of its kind to offer masters qualification on completion, and to actively seek out applications from candidates without a degree in a technology-related discipline.

The company says it aims to boost its gender balance by attracting 50% women to the course through a series of roadshows at universities across the UK that will bring to life the careers of four of the company’s senior female technologists in order to “demystify the careers on offer in the thriving digital economy”.

The programme is offered in collaboration with Sheffield Hallam University with live project work and mentoring by Sky Betting & Gaming’s engineers. There are XX places up for grabs and the company is investing £YY into the scheme.

Georgina Adams, software academy manager at Sky Betting & Gaming, said: “We want to bust the myth that people in tech jobs come exclusively from a computer science or similar background. If you’re a natural problem solver and a quick learner who wants a career in one of the leading tech companies in the country then we’d love to hear from you.”
