Business leaders catwalk their way to raising thousands for charity
More than £11,000 was raised for charity by Yorkshire business leaders and professionals strutting their stuff on the catwalk.
Some 76 people from some of the region’s top businesses took to the catwalk to model outfits at the FB Fashion Ball, held on Thursday at the Royal Armouries in Leeds. The annual event showcased clothes from a range of high street brands, boutiques and independent fashion designers across the region.
As well the event raising money for chosen charities Cash for Kids and Simon on the Streets, the models themselves were invited to raise sponsorship for a charity of their choice for the first time in the event’s 21-year history.
Organiser Lisa Darwin said: “Wow! What a night. The FB Fashion Ball is always a highlight in the corporate calendar and this year proved no different. The models did a superb job of overcoming any nerves and showcased some fabulous fashion with style. Along with the FB Business and Lifestyle Awards, the evening was a true celebration of what’s great about our region.
“The number of charities we have been able to support this year by incorporating the sponsorship element has been fantastic and confirms the generosity of the Yorkshire business community.”
As well as the catwalk show, the evening also featured the FB Business & Lifestyle Awards which celebrate the region’s businesses, individuals and brands. Winners included:
