Furniture retailer to open new concept store

Danish-owned global furniture retailer JYSK has chosen Doncaster for the UK’s first new generation concept store, creating 12 jobs.

With a strongly performing store base concentrated at the heart of the UK, the multi-billion-euro company also announced wider rapid expansion plans, starting in Doncaster, with six more stores opening in 2019. It already has stores in Rotherham, York, Pontefract and Dewsbury.

The Doncaster opening, at Danum Retail Park, York Road on Saturday July 28, puts the UK among the top ten nations chosen for the new concept format from across JYSK’s 50 countries.

Country Manager for JYSK UK, David Ashton, said: “We are about to start accelerating our growth within the UK and it all starts here in Doncaster, a destination we have chosen specifically to launch our new-look concept store. This will be the first in the UK and therefore our Doncaster customers will enjoy much more attractive and inspiring store to design and create their next big (or small) project.

“We join Finland, Sweden, Denmark, the Netherlands and Poland as one of the very first new concept stores in the world for JYSK.”
