Weekender: Expanded programme of Icelandic getaways take off from Leeds Bradford Airport

After launching its ‘Incredible Iceland’ breaks last winter, short-break specialist Super Break has announced an expanded programme of flights to Northern Iceland from Leeds Bradford Airport, departing in February 2019.

In addition, a New Year’s Eve gala package will also be departing from the airport on 31 December, including a party cruise and fireworks.

The three new breaks will offer holidaymakers exclusive three or four-night Arctic experiences, and all include the same exclusive regional flights direct to Akureyr.

Holidaymakers from Yorkshire will have the opportunity to “discover this incredible part of the world and go genuinely off the beaten track over the new year.”

As the only operator in the UK to fly direct to Northern Iceland, the three new breaks will sit alongside the travel brand’s Incredible Iceland package.

The new breaks offer will also allow holidaymakers access five-star accommodation with a variety of cuisine options, including brewery tours, tastings and a visit to a local farm.

Alternatively, holidaymakers can now opt for a break in the wilderness through visits to the Myvatn Nature Baths and Sigurgeirs Bird Museum. Super Break’s is also launching a ‘Freedom of North Iceland’ self-drive break, providing car hire with unlimited mileage.

Chris Hagan from Super Break said: “We’re thrilled to announce our expanded programme of getaways so that more people than ever before can experience the magical destination that is North Iceland.

“Akureyri is an amazing destination and we take pride in offering the very best bucket list activities for holidaymakers across the UK to experience on this trip of a lifetime.”
