Two companies to expand into enterprise zone business park

Two companies are set to expand into the Marfleet Environmental Park in Hull.

A chemical manufacturer has leased a 4,800 sq ft unit at the former Humbrol factory site as part of a larger investment in the city.

Wisper Broadband has also agreed a five-year deal on a 3,200 sq ft office space at the Hedon Road scheme.

Wisper’s expansion plans will also see it provide an alternative superfast broadband service to KCOM in the East Yorkshire area.

Ben Cooper, the divisional director who negotiated the deals for PPH Commercial, said: “It’s always pleasing to deal with local companies who are keen to grow and expand because it’s positive for the city’s economy.

“Both of these brands are well-established in Hull, and the east Hull area in particular, so it’s been rewarding to help them find a prestigious new location which is close to their roots.

“Hopefully, their ambitious expansion plans will come to fruition and help to create plenty of new job opportunities. I wish them every success for the future.”

Having been bought by commercial property developers Stoneferry Estates in 2007, the Marfleet Environmental Park is now home a wide range of businesses, including Nippon Gohsei, Neill & Brown Global Logistics and Middlegate Europe.

Tom Healey, a director at Stoneferry Estates, added: “We all know that Siemens and other renewable energy giants are investing heavily in Hull, but it’s rewarding to help two local companies who are looking to do the same. I’m sure they’ll both thrive and prosper in their new home.

“Marfleet has proved an excellent location for growing businesses across the region in recent years and we have seen a number of smaller companies thrive from being at such a great location, near to some of the biggest names in business locally.”

The business park is situated in the Humber Estuary Enterprise Zone.
