Weekender: Tapas restaurant readying to open fifth venue

La Casita has made its mark amongst Yorkshire’s eating scene since the first restaurant opened in Ilkley in 2014 by chefs and entrepreneurs, Simon Miller and Oliver Renton.

With sites across Ilkley, Horsforth, Leeds, Boston Spa and employing 50 people, the duo are continuing to grow with the opening of its latest restaurant in Skipton at the end of the month.

On Friday 30 November, doors will open at Mill Bridge in Skipton to ‘The Little House of Tapas’ where it will serve its award-winning Andalusian Tapas food, alongside traditional wines and cocktails.

With a reputation for fantastic food and great service, the restaurant chain continues to go from strength the strength, employing 50 people across the sites and with the £70,000 investment in the new site, a further 10 jobs have been created locally. With additional growth plans for 2019, the team are continuing to find new ways to bring this popular cuisine to diners, as well as connecting suppliers with customers.

Simon Miller, co-founder of La Casita, said: “We pride ourselves on the experience our restaurants create, carefully curated dishes with great flavour and creativity, all set in a beautifully intimate restaurant. Our vision is to bring the taste of Spain to the wonderful little hamlets of Yorkshire. 2019 will be an exciting year for us with plans for new sites, exploring a potential street food offering and continuing to build the La Casita brand.

“We want to continue supporting local business communities, with the addition of developing those wanting to work in hospitality. Whether its front of house of creating our very best dishes, we offer apprenticeships to help mentor and support both young or old talent, giving them first-hand experience of working in a fast-paced, thriving restaurant environment.”

La Casita Skipton will open from Friday 30th November at 10 Mill Bridge, Skipton, BD23 1NJ
