Ogden Waller enters administration

OGDEN Waller has gone into administration after suffering the effects of the economic downturn on the property sector.

Karen Dukes, Ian Green and David Kelly of PwC have been appointed as joint administrators the Batley-based company and its partnerships Ogden Waller Investments, OW Estates and Ogden Waller Properties, which own and manage a commercial and residential property portfolio of 40 properties across the country, with the majority in the North.

Although most of the properties are retail sites, the portfolio also includes office, industrial, residential, leisure and development sites.

The administrators said they are working with the directors and staff to ensure all sites are secure and that there is minimal disruption to tenants. PwC said existing tenancies in place are unaffected by the appointments.

Karen Dukes said: “The company and the partnerships have entered formal insolvency proceedings as a result of the impact of the economic downturn on the property sector.

“However, we are ensuring minimal disruption to existing tenants by working closely with the company’s staff and agents. We will also be providing regular updates to stakeholders as we review the strategy for each site and identify purchasers for the properties.”
