Little Valley Brewery undergoes expansion project

LITTLE Valley Brewery is expanding its production site which will more than double the amount of pints it can brew each month and help boost business by 25%.

The organic micro-brewery set in Cragg Vale, West Yorkshire, has made an investment worth £135,000 in the expansion, which will increase its fermentation and maturation capacity to produce 17,000 additional pints per week, bringing the total number of pints to approximately 108,000 per month from 40,000.

Little Valley Brewery was launched in 2005 by Sue Cooper and Wim van der Spek and hopes to create two new jobs with its investment.

Founder and qualified master brewer, Wim van der Spek, said: “Now is the time to invest in the growth and expansion of the brewery, in order to meet current demand and find new business in the UK retail and foodservice sectors, as well as new overseas markets.”

Most of the beers are named after local West Yorkshire landmarks and Little Valley Brewery, which has won sevel national awards, has beers stocked in four of the major supermarket chains across Yorkshire and can be found in more than 100 pubs and restaurants across Yorkshire and the North West.
